Newly dyed yarn hangs on a rack. A spinning wheel sits in the background.

The yarn is all hand spun and hand dyed. Some of the colors are natural dyes and others come from chemical based dyes.

Generally, natural dyes yield rather muted colors. Brighter colors like these are generally chemical dyes, though some bright colors (such as the red that comes from adding lime juice to the dye made from the insect cochineal) do come from natural sources.
