DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT MANAGEMENT
Aventail is looking for a successful, aggressive senior level product
management professional to direct Aventail's SSL VPN product roadmap,
develop effective product definition, positioning and messaging, and
champion Aventail's products in the market.
The right candidate will:
Direct the identification and evaluation of market
trends, customer needs, and competitive analysis.
Develop market requirements documents, and coordinate
with program management on product release details and schedules
Manage product releases and create product messaging,
pricing, sales tools, and product training in coordination with
Corporate Marketing, Public Relations, and Channel Marketing to ensure
our products' success.
Provide ongoing training and support to sales.
Be a spokesperson for our products with customers,
analysts & at industry shows.
Manage the Product Management team, as well as
contributing on an individual basis.
Qualifications
10 plus years high-tech product management experience
with at least 4 years in network security, network systems, or
enterprise applications markets and managing a team.
Proven success in directing the successful definition,
launch and evangelization of enterprise-class products through channels,
direct and OEM partnerships.
Successful experience working at large technology
companies as well as start-up experience, particularly in fast-growth,
highly competitive markets
Excellent technical knowledge of networking and security
systems (especially VPN/firewall)
Excellent writing and communication skills to help
translate technology concepts into messages that can be understood
and
embraced by less technical audiences
Strong background in managing budgets, internal
resources, external vendors, and outside contractors to achieve desired
goals
Strong project management and change implementation
skills and the ability to prioritize
Proven engagement with colleagues and executives to
create and deliver coordinated results
Excellent managerial skills with strong interpersonal
communication and organizational skills
Technical B.S. degree, with either an MBA or an
equivalent combination of demonstrated business skills and experience
commensurate with a product line leadership role.

DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Aventail is looking for a successful, aggressive business development
professional to recruit, drive and manage Aventail's technology
partnerships. The right candidate will:
Forge partnerships for the
purpose of extending Aventail's
solution by interoperability with 3rd party solutions, by licensing
and/or reselling a 3rd party product or technology.
Drive appropriate partner
programs and compelling value
propositions, in coordination with Marketing, to help recruit, retain,
gain market credibility, and, most importantly, additional revenues
from
our partnerships.
Be a key advisor and business
partner to the senior management
team on strategic business development opportunities and issues, and
as
such, will require significant interaction across all major functional
areas, including marketing, product development and operations.
Responsiblities
Work closely with Product
Management and Development, and, based
on our agreed upon strategies and priorities, will evaluate, establish,
negotiate and maintain appropriate 3rd party partnerships.
Create and drive an industry-leading
partner program.
Gain and maintain strategic
knowledge and intelligence of
trends, needs and market changes.
Propose, plan and manage
the Business Development budget.
Perform other miscellaneous
tasks and requirements as required.
Qualifications
BS degree and 7 to 10 years
of experience in Business
Development in enterprise technology fields. Experience in networking
and security markets a plus. MBA a plus.
Strong understanding of the
remote access marketplace, with good
working knowledge of the companies, technologies, and product trends
in
networking, security, and/or enterprise systems.
Strong account management/vendor
management skills.
Demonstrated success in identifying,
analyzing, recruiting and
managing partners.
Proven ability to analyze
the business potential of a new deal,
strategically and financially, and to negotiate and close important,
complex and custom deals.
Proven ability to work directly
with and on the behalf of
product management, corporate marketing and sales.
Must be able to effectively
communicate with all disciplines of
senior management and maintain a close working relationship with peers
and other business contacts.
Must be prepared to travel
as required.
The Director, Business Development
must be a highly motivated,
action-oriented individual with outstanding interpersonal skills and
the
ability to effectively deliver in a lean environment. He/she must be
able to energize and influence a wide spectrum of people including
senior colleagues across the company.
Unquestionable integrity

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provide overall leadership and direction for core 180Solutions products.
Provide key conduit for all points within the organization to ensure 180
products reach the appropriate marketplace and relationships and business
are developed and grown over time.
Provide leadership to ensure 180Solutions produces products in the marketplace
meet or exceed customer's expectations, are profitable and are delivered

installs, trend analysis and reporting to ensure that the system works.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in business, technology or equivalent. Masters
or related degree preferred. Demonstrated strong technical skills
if degree/background is non-technical.
7+ years experience in business development/product management role
or product development with demonstrated success as a key contributor to
growth of new revenue streams in a customer-focused business environment.
Ability to get deals done.
3+ years demonstrated successful leadership and management skills for
product management team focused on "quick turn" products in a technical
environment.
Proven competency in partnering and collaborating with development/technology
organization to bring software products from functional specifications
to market.
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and programs
under development.
Exceptional relationship management and negotiation skills across organizational
boundaries.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to persuade.
