    Curt Rosengren Fact Sheet

PROFESSIONAL

LOCATION: Seattle, WA

OCCUPATION: Passion Catalyst

FOCUS: Helping people identify their passions and figure out how to create a career that ignites them.

CLIENT RANGE: I have worked with people in their early twenties through their retirement years. The majority of my clients fall in the thirty through fifty range.

METHODOLOGY: I developed the Occupational Adventure Guide model to help put some structure around an inherently fuzzy process. This model provides the foundation for both my one-on-one work and my seminars.

DATE LAUNCHED: May 15th, 2001

SOURCE OF THE IDEA: I literally put a framework around what I had been doing naturally, informally (and for free) for years.

PREVIOUS CAREER FOCUS: Professional Malcontent (most recently in the role of a marketing consultant focusing on the high-tech industry)

IMPACT THE CHANGE HAS MADE: The energy differential between my marketing work and my Passion Catalyst work is huge. After two years, I still get so excited talking about it that I can't shut up. If someone asked me about my marketing work, I would give a short answer and then ask them a question about themselves to change the subject. I never used to think I was blessed with any kind of "vision" - I couldn't honestly answer the "where do you see yourself in five years?" interview question. Now I realize it was because it was because deep down, I didn't WANT to see myself five years down the road on the path I was on. Now, not only do I have a five year plan, it has come from my daydreams.

CURRENT ACTIVITY: One-on-one work, passion pursuit workshops, Passion People Speaker Series (which gives people who have pursued their passions an opportunity to share what they've learned), and speaking engagements.

FUTURE ACTIVITY: A book on pursuing one's passion is in the works.

SOME PAST PASSION PEOPLE SPEAKER SERIES SPEAKERS: Richard Tait (co-founder & Grand Poo Bah / CEO of the game company Cranium), Richard Bangs (Editor/Producer of Microsoft's online travel magazine Well-Traveled, former CEO of Outward Bound, and co-founder of Mountain Travel-Sobek), Phil Borges (photographer, co-founder of the non-profit Bridges to Understanding)

KEY INGREDIENTS FOR MY SUCCESSFUL CAREER TRANSFORMATION: Passion, pigheadedness (i.e., refusing to give up), and a willingness to constantly be trying new ways to make it work.

PERSONAL

HOBBIES: Travel, photography, rock climbing, most anything outdoors, creating art with paper and light

COUNTRIES LIVED IN: US, England, Denmark, Sweden, Finland

NUMBER OF COUNTRIES VISITED: 24

LANGUAGES (besides English): Fluent Swedish, functionally ugly Spanish, and barbarically butchered French

MOST QUESTIONABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE: Jumping in through a hole in the ice in the middle of winter in Finland

MOST MEMORABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE: That's a toss-up between being invited to help carry the casket in a Zapotec funeral procession in Oaxaca, Mexico, and being part of the multi-day festivities around the wedding OF one of the sons of a family of Zapotec weavers I have become friends with over the years.
